Four steps to success

In my private counseling practice, clients often say to me, "I want to be happy!" Then we started to realize it. As a psychotherapist I know that your habits, your relationships, your environment and especially what you think determine more about how happy you are than your genes; because I've seen so many people figure out how to achieve their goals and create their own happiness. You can improve any part of your life you want: your relationship with yourself, your relationships with others, your work life, your private life, and even your health. The following steps will help you achieve every goal you have set for yourself - how are diamonds formed.

Four steps to success

(1) Choose the target.

(2) Divide it into small, non-intimidating steps.

(3) Do something. (If you can't do it yourself, you haven't made the steps small or easy enough - go back to step 2.)

(4) Celebrate what you did (yes, every little step).

Where are

the beers?

Let's say you're interested in bringing more physical activity and music into your life, and choose a folk dance class. Divide the goal into manageable steps: (1) call around to find out which classes are available; (2) choose a class to attend; (3) enroll in the class; (4) attend the first class meeting; (5) evaluate the class if it is good for your purposes - christmas meaning.

Those steps may seem simplistic, but that's the idea. Make it as easy as possible every step of the way. That way you won't be discouraged by "I can't" before you start.

When can I drink them?

Dividing your goal into the smallest possible steps will make it easier to get to the next stage: do something. Many of us know how to set goals, but not how to achieve them, so we have "proven" ourselves over and over again that we are failures. That is not at all correct. The failure lies in not having completed the rest of the four steps to success.

You have just made the third step to your goal as simple as possible, so there are no reasons not to. Go ahead and focus only on the third step: do something - Anniversaries meaning.

Celebrate after taking the third step. Recognition of what you have achieved is important. It also helps celebrate every step you make towards your goal as you take it. This way you will not run out of energy until you have achieved success, and you will continue to encourage yourself as you continue.

Show Up

Your party can just look in your mirror and say, "Congratulations, you've just taken the first (second, third) step to reach your goal." Or your party could be more elaborate, such as toasting your performance with a friend or two. . It can even be a big party.

The important thing is that you do something to make sure you notice that you have had some success, no matter how small. It is this celebration that gives you the courage and confidence to continue to achieve your goal - engagements meaning.

When you reach your goal, go back to the four steps and choose a new goal; then follow the steps again. Repeat until you have created or achieved what you want.
